Remembering Kaelan Alexander Palmer Paton’s Legacy FB Fundraiser and Important Issues for US-All in 2019

I hope this outreach can encourage more connection and safety plans (formed and promoted by communities not only schools, faith groups, towns, states, and happenstance outreaches like this one.)

If there are injuries in a workplace setting, full investigation is done. If a minor dies, another serious investigation should be done to help comprehend the various warnings that were not understood or heeded by adults as well as minors (as would be reasonable.)

With the 10th Year Since Kaelan’s Passing in 2009 is coming up June 16th, 2019, I have been wanting to mark the time with a bigger showing of love and support and do community outreach.

Since safety planning with adults and youth is a foundation for safety and success, outreach along these lines will be highlighted to schools and towns in the Tri-Corner area through posters and outreach at events, letters to the newspaper and online.

This effort would help everyone feel included and benefit from clear, practical safety plans throughout the seasons of the year and life with team support.
Much has been shared on livfully.org (reaching over 200K people) as well as on a FB page in Kaelan’s memory.

His service which was held in July 2009 at Sharon Center School is on youtube.com in short segments.

These moving tributes and insights can keep the wisdom of hard-won lessons pertinent to modern day living and taking care when driving with respect. Planning for safety and success for all is a winning strategy..

Half of the amount raised will be donated to a NWCT scholarship fund to benefit a local high school student. I welcome help on that project. Feel free to contribute to one of your choice directly whether in Kaelan’s name or another’s if that feels more direct (and let us know you did so here if you like.)

Giving 5 (for the high five to those above and for the helping hand that can be key to many saves and support), 10, 16 or any other amount that you may find meaningful or be able to do even with a friend joining in to keep the circles growing is much appreciated!

With the passing of both sets of Kaelan’s grandparents, and longtime northwest CT residents, Mary and Dale Palmer Srs as well as Caroline and Sandy (Charles Alexander) Paton in the last 15 years to recent months, this donation reflects their combined legacies of love and support for many in the area and through their lifelong efforts.

I like to think Kaelan’s spirit is cheering everyone on in their next steps in life even over the decades. He has many relatives and friends doing great things and keeping their lives going, even through difficult times.

So a lot of this formal outreach is to help everyone feel included, connected, supported and celebrated. Please give yourselves a hug and “pat on” the back for all you do and dream! Best to All!!

Here are additional thoughts about things you can promote and reasons to donate so more safety advocacy can be done. Much of what I do voluntarily for decades in my communities (mainly in the MA/NY CT tri-corner area but also in Brooklyn NY I share here on livfully.org. Thanks for being part of the journey and advocacy by tuninng in… some say ‘that’s what it’s all about.”)

Without worrying about criminal actions only, or even civil tort laws for every case (unless there is some advocacy to help people comprehend important appropriate responses), there could be a resolve to ‘do things better in the future’ on all fronts. Not ‘walking into danger’ without good reason and proper training, equipment and support would be a basic guideline to promote in every country.

For people dealing with ‘unstable, tricky or abusive or otherwise compromised people’ that would also merit meaningful capable support. See CA Protective Parents Association and BMCC, a national Battered Mothers Custody Conference that promotes important research and advocacy for best practices to keep families safe with important laws and guidance for every state to implement. See US House Resolution 72 to keep victims and their children safe and together during initial custody hearings.

When it comes to that unsavory topic of ‘domestic abuse’ (people in one’s family or social circle being controlling, difficult and harmful or threatening to sever ties between a victim and her children (generally the case in terms of gender but it can vary and be inter-generational, with seniors sometimes being targets of elder mistreatment or abuse and again isolated from needed social and other services…)

Okay, to the overall hope is to allow ourselves to work collectively to heal many ‘gray areas’ historically and currently so we see the world with new meaningful insights and practices to keep everyone in the game of life in positive ways, working with people where they are and encouraging each to make healthy choices about working with a sense of team and shared values for the positive greater good (and their own…a lot of win-win.)

There are many aspects of this explored on livfully.org. In terms of adults, many are ‘too busy to think about these difficult matters’, and even universities and other professionals are often ‘already preoccupied with their mandates and separate interests and not clear about how they might join in the more meaningful present matters whether caring for the earth, humanity or resources.

But a handful of people in each country, state and area will be able to encourage more attention to these kinds of matters, both personal and larger social issues, political and practical while there is still time on the clock of our friendly planet and many more young people ‘aware of what their future may hold.’ Empowering youth to lead the way is likely a very practical strategy.

Finding ways to get adults who can give some time and energy to the efforts as they feel they may need to ‘look out for themselves and what they have earned or owned so far’ as their primary goal in life may be more challenging….but collaborating could hold a key to how to help everyone feel more acknowledged and valuable. I will be hearing more ideas at a forum in Brooklyn NY (The Left Forum) so will share those as well on livfully.org. Thanks for doing what you can as you can to pitch in to the wider care circles in your area and beyond, perhaps with nurturing ties you have to your hometowns, environmental area and interests, family and friends network, local and compromised areas too. That’s a lot of ‘pitching’ but America (and many other countries) love to ‘Play Ball!” Batter Up!
