Here’s a quick link to join the KnowYourselfRevolution.com Summit that is hosted by Grace Gravestock with many cool speakers to help humanity tune in and tune up (my take on it.) https://kyr.life/share

I was able to join at the lowest rate (unless there was one even before it went on sale which may have been the case…) Hope it’s about the same now which was about $130 to have the VIP and access, but It’s Free for 21 days from the start (and it’s about Day 3 now.)

Okay wishing all well and I learned of that from www.HeartRiver.org with the podcast by Peter Roth (whose also on the summit…) Now here’s Your Bonus info for sticking with the fun stuff…kind of practical but why not and more surprises too! (Nice ones!))

Definitely some fresh ideas to help us move forward in positive, healing ways from the inside out (mindset, feelings, health and more with good connections) in 2024 when it’s the name of the game to be more hopeful and team-oriented with friendly team players! See you here and on Livfully.org as I hope to get more support in doing posts and sharing some of what I recorded on Clubhouse.com.

Other exciting news from my corner of the world is that I’m in the book 365 Days of Gratitude 2024 edited by Donna Kozik who offers a lot of great support for writing and more. It’s an ebook and a nice printed copy, so hope you can enjoy that soon. I’ll put a link in soon or just google on Amazon…. Thanks again, and explore with positive hopes and support in 2024.

PS I also am offering an online course (which maybe you’d like to do as well…) on www.edadvance.org/registration about Tri-State (MA/NY CT) Social Networking which will be on zoom and then in person, each for 2 sessions of 2 hours for a cost of $45 either session. That helps keep the lights on and I’ll earn $50 total for each session…so it’s mainly a community networking and outreach effort.

That game plan (to do something along those lines via adult ed is also what I am promoting, much like the book format which you can learn more about from www.TheCommunityBookProject.com and about the authors on www.MeetOurAuthors.com

There are many groups and schools and such that may want to be able to have a way to get to know members and such better by sharing a brief story (100-300 words, and in the Gratitude books it’s 200 words. Some may offer a photo as well which could be a nice option.

Then some bio and contact info about the author. There’s another section about non-profits and causes the authors or maybe paid sponsors could promote (to offset costs.) Some options may be to print books and let authors sell them for a bit more, and others may just cover costs and be helpful to share the stories and provide more information about the authors, a business and so on.

Overall I think it builds a lot of repoire among the group and many who join in the circles as the book is shared to enrich awareness and create meaningful sharing and connections as well as valuable resources!

Okay so hope folks sense the win-win energy coming through this year for many, even while there are struggles ‘in the real world’ and challenging people in many aspects of life.

Let’s pull together when the chips are down and really find ways (and maybe ask AI in a reasonable ways) how to help get some of the needed figuring out done and then do the ‘doing’ with support and accountability too (making sure things are done in a timely, sufficient manner with proof or whatever is needed for what is being used whether to qualify for programs, manage finances, follow through on voluntary or legal agreements and more.

If someone is divorcing or has other legal matters, there may be a responsibility of an attorney or each party to give copies of the certified documents to appropriate concerned or involved parties (regarding how retirement funds are distributed for instance even if that is years away, find out who is responsible to inform the retirement company and not leave it to chance or trust that the parties themselves will be able or willing to follow those instructions honestly.

Sometimes one may neglect to tell the other, discuss options and so forth and decide they should not have to follow those instructions ‘for whatever reason.’ (Have you ever heard of that kind of rationale…Whatever…or No Reason that was agreed to….and that pertains to many areas of life such as people agreeing to pay for homecare or other work, but not be able or willing or on the ball (for various reasons, including overwhelm, not having a way to get proper legal requirements in place to document things according to the medical or legal or other guidelines in a timely fashion as in Before One Provides Care and Documents that…)

So again, plenty to learn from professionals who are competent and thorugh and worth checking with a few to see if there is consistency…and look online for basics, checking with simple sites like nolo.com and learning what one’s state requires (wherever one resides for six months and a day or however legal residency is determined…) if one is in more than one state or planning to move.

So much to learn in advance so more high need situations can be addressed with care and again a team of informed parties with the ‘right access and provisions’ among close family, friends or advocates in each community hopefully in case back up is needed. It can be more challenging to help someone when they’ve had a mental or physical decline (or both.)

Many times people are ‘well enough to refuse help’ but not well enough to know what to do to explore options directly, so more sharing stories about how others in general faced ups and downs may help get the ball rolling…and get others involved to assist in thinking through options of many kinds.

This is not a blog for legal, financial, health or caregiving directives or advice, just encouragement for people to take time regularly to watch youtube.com and see a reputable site in their state such as CtSeniorLaw.com in CT.

Ask about whether siblings owning a home or property together can be beneficial (and what the risks are…) or about adult children caring for parents and what the requirements are to satisfy documenting and have a caregiver agreement in place in a timely manner.

Sometimes it’s clear someone will need help and other times it’s more direct or situational. Get some rough drafts (or official paper work) ready for ‘just in case’ even for oneself and others one may need to assist.

Thanks for all doing what they can to grow wiser and have support from online and local resources (and through one’s state and other organizations such as alz.org or Agencies on Aging, Dept of Social Services, Medicare.gov and many more helpful places to learn about with a friend or two to make sure one is understanding the high and low of the information (Supplemental Medicare plans vs Advantage Plans for instance and Prescription D plans…) and when one needs to sign up initially or maintain something to avoid penalities…and yes, what help there may be to cover the premium costs that may typically come out of a social security payment but not necessarily or may help with that if one qualifies economically for that.

Okay best to all as winter is giving more a sense of temperature changes and need to check on pipes, air pressure and people’s well-being especially when travelling but also for enough warmth in their homes.

There are fuel assistance programs for many and SNAP or Food Stamps and help with housing can usually be found via calling 211 or in NYC 311 or looking online in the google search bar or 211.org etc.

There may be help with having a cell phone or even a tablet and/or paying for the internet if people qualify by having SNAP. Those guidelines may have changed to have an asset limit (how much one can have in the bank and so forth) and the income guidelines based on the size of a household.

Often there are places and people who can help such as social workers or someone in another agency, but one needs to ask so that’s where advocating for one another is important.

Every state is set up a bit differently but good to help many groups and school families know the help is there and to apply early since some programs run out of money or have set dates to receive help (such as fuel or when first signing up for Medicare and Part D to do so without receiving a penalty for future payments.)
