Torrington CT Main St (Franklin St ) Market Place a Big Hit Thursday Nights!

on Sat, 07/11/2015 - 12:44

Congratulations on the inaugural festive opening of the Thursday Nights Market Place event on Franklin St not far from the Warner Theatre on Main St! After ushering at the Theatre(and The Sharon Playhouse in CT) for many years, I have gotten to know a few local faces (including my rather large family on my mom's Coury side who lived there for decades) and it's a great feeling to see the greater show we're all part of when people can mingle and enjoy a summer evening with some inspiration, good food available from baked goods to hot dishes, fresh produce, crafts, jazzy items and live music.

What's The Fourth of July Mean to You and Yours (and US-All)?

on Fri, 07/03/2015 - 18:06

Salutations on this special fourth of July when our country and likely the world is realizing 'things can change, sometimes for the better, from one vote or day to the next'. The idea of more freedom for all, more justice and fairness as well as social inclusion is catching on, for better or for worse some may say.

Originally thinking this out on Facebook but likely it did not post, so I copied and pasted..Sometimes a virus of sorts makes the post repeat, so I tried to edit and hope I did not cut out too much (hardly possible yet there are a ton of points to consider since the days of the 1980s when I started thinking about these topics, which was when 'coming out of the closet' was a big deal as was AIDS..and in vitro was a vague idea whereas now it will be more affordable to people as is the Plan B pill.

Happy Vassar Reunion and Kudos and Thanks to those Donating $16 Million plus!

on Sun, 06/14/2015 - 13:48

The wonderful folks of Vassar College held their Reunion Weekend in Poughkeepsie June 12-14th..it's just wrapping up with a Memorial Service. While many have crossed over to the other side, especially from the older classes, when they were enjoying their earthly journeys they made plans to donate to Vassar and that's what resulted in a rather huge amount of funds being donated to Vassar this year.
