How was your Birthday, President Obama aka Friendship Day?

on Mon, 08/05/2013 - 04:29

Turns out Aug 4th is both President Obama's Birthday And Friendship Day (according to my calendar from the store, not the one I'm hoping to create to recognize people of every age year by year and even decade by decade Anbd even in this life and beyond). But, I'm getting ahead of my self..

Did anyone see if the President blew out 52 candles on his cake (one for each week of the year?) Did he have 52 actual candles and one to grow on, or a facsimile thereof, say a circle of a candles and two in the middle..or the numbers 5 and 2 (and one candle to grow on just the same?) When a good idea's time has come, a great day is born! This is the case for the National Safe Child Day beginning in 2013 on October 1st! Bring on the pumpkins and bumpkins...all kids will be recognized at least in theory, and hopefully their safety Checked. Once a concept is shared, more efforts to implement it can be created (or even mandated).

Everyone loves kids, unless they are really in charge of caring for a child who may have special needs, or even regular needs such as eating, sleeping (it's the getting them to sleep that can cause the problems, but not having a sitter if one want

Why not think of 'who's in the game" and what role each person plays both in making choices and using their voices to promote safety and respect for people at all ages and stages of life?

A Big Question merits a Big Answer, yet some of the people most affected by our collective laws and choices are very small, voiceless or otherwise not protected in meaningful ways...Does anyone ever ASK a 'child' ( a person of a younger biological age not necessarily someone less intelligent, sober or wise, mentally balanced or practical) what he/she/they think of some parts of their lives whether in regard

(Pardon the formatting on this, I'll be working on repairing it soon.As with any post, to enlarge the text, press Control and + once or more.) There is also a FB page in Kaelan Paton's memory and his Memorial is on youtube. I have added to this piece periodically as I am doing with a new introduction on July 7, 2016.Over 30 thousand people have read some or all of this, so my appreciation is extended and hope it is helping people prepare for challenges or cope with ones they have lived through.

Many of these kinds of difficulties seem a sign of the times in which we live.

Making the world and nature safe for turtles is good medicine for making it safe for all of US. Let's find ways to think like a turtle, feel safe in our own skin and protected by our shell we call home in terms of the friends we seek and keep, the places we nurture and visit, the awareness we develop over time in light of laws of the land as well as the laws of nature. Enjoy each season with a reason to practice good self-care and people care as well as earth care and resource share!
