Keeping Track of Kids...to Keep Them Alive!

on Fri, 10/12/2018 - 17:25
While thinking through the pros and cons of bathroom passes for kids at the high school level to use, I explored other concerns about monitoring youth..not only during the school day, but before and after...to help them stay in the game of Life!

The bigger concern for me and I'd hope for most parents after our son Kaelan's passing in 2009 during the days when schedules change (test days, half days etc) is that All Parents Monitor their kids for getting to and from the school safely. Not allowing bike rides to the school or even walking away to someone's house nearby.

Brainstorming (Again) About Rethinking (or even Rethinnking) Education in small towns and bigger ones too, from CT to other states and countries

As an open matter of debate, spending $5K on professional development for the head of a multi million dollar organization is not that much. The idea that someone is willing and able to go to other programs can be sign of hope and taking in important timely information, networking and keeping up with required credentials.

I feel overall more parents and 'concerned stakeholders' from all parts of our area and the wider tri-state and even 'internet and otherwise concerned (alums, second homeowners etc) are a hUGE untapped resources, even for hugs, to help us figure this whole challenge (and

During a chance to enjoy the Open House (which I noticed yesterday was happening when I passed by on my way to a permaculture program) at the downtown Brooklyn location of LIU, Long Island Universtiy, I got to meet a nice handful of professors (in the nursing department to appreciate our unsund heroes and heroines who pursue this work) as well as eager students, both new and returning.

Remarkably they have over two hundred spots for students to enroll on an open basis if they meet the criteria.

Happy Hunt Library Founder's Day, that would be the Hunt Sisters, in Falls Village CT on September 17th, 2016

Congratulations to the folks working to keep the doors open and programs runnign at all civic and faith organizations, particularly at schools, daycares and libraries (or lion-braries as I like to playfully call them especially to get kids excited to go hunt for which books and people are "lyin' around" in a library.

There could be friendly Leo and Leila Lions greeting folks on online visitor pages, with journals to capture ideas and addresses (mainly towns and even just first names unless there is a more secure way to make a data base such as file cards dropped into a box.) More on this
