(Pardon the formatting on this, I'll be working on repairing it soon.As with any post, to enlarge the text, press Control and + once or more.) There is also a FB page in Kaelan Paton's memory and his Memorial is on youtube. I have added to this piece periodically as I am doing with a new introduction on July 7, 2016.Over 30 thousand people have read some or all of this, so my appreciation is extended and hope it is helping people prepare for challenges or cope with ones they have lived through.

Many of these kinds of difficulties seem a sign of the times in which we live.

Turtle Garden Permaculture Outreach! Jump into June with a Happy Tune!

Making the world and nature safe for turtles is good medicine for making it safe for all of US. Let's find ways to think like a turtle, feel safe in our own skin and protected by our shell we call home in terms of the friends we seek and keep, the places we nurture and visit, the awareness we develop over time in light of laws of the land as well as the laws of nature. Enjoy each season with a reason to practice good self-care and people care as well as earth care and resource share!

Happy 50th to me (and about a million others on May 14th and everyother day!)

What's it like to turn 50 on May  14th, 2013? Only a percentage of 9 million can tell you from personal experience.
For you cybergeeks, how many of the 9 million with the 5-14 birthday are likely turning 50 in 2013?  Is there a website that would do that math for me?

I get excited thinking that Mark Zuckerburg also had a birthday May 14th, and by the way, how old is he? In his 20s but maybe early 30s?

Sadly, in the midst of all that, another young man died in the same river as my son, not far away, at about 2 am not long ago.  A young man, let's call him Robert for some anonymity,  also was out with friends, having what was supposed to be a good time.

The full moon  earlier in the week likely got people thinking about the night being bright as day, and maybe a good

Somehow I landed on a trip to Washington DC where I joined 35-50K people for the Climate Change Rally on February 17th, 2013 with Bill McKibben from www.350.org leading the call for President Obama to Nix the Pipeline from Canada which would pollute and destroy much of our environment in the US (and even in Canada as we learned from some lovely Native People of that northern neighbor).

See the www.youtube.com coverage which can move one to tears as we realize 'we are on borrowed time' and we have a hYOUge (HUGE response-ability, but think of the HUG 50K gave each other on the Washington
