Nice to Listen to Jenn McLean and separately to Jarrad Hewett After the Vegas Challenge of 10-1-17
With everyone finding a new normal and still learning about how some of the people either went to the concert (or by chance or design did not end up going if planning to do so), how some got hurt or worse and met their end there, how others helped and how many fled in fear and what we could all do to think about how to live our lives with more insights and plans for more safety, knowing nothing is 100% for sure in terms of our human plans (and everyone else's...) Don't we wish Stephen Paddock had had a change of heart that morning, maybe ran out of gas or veered off the road due to an animal or other driver's action..or any number of 'what if's'. It's okay to indulge in a few and wonder about not only his upbringing by family and peers but bigger social circles (schools, areas he lived in and the media.) I haven't heard if he was of normal intelligence..but actually a relative who visited him for a short spell a few months basically said he was a nice guy. His girlfriend who was clueless by accounts about any foul play in store thought highly of him. That could give everyone pause for reflection..that someone about to 'go postal' does not always carry a big red warning sign. Likely they never do...
Okay so this meant to be an Encouraging Note and mention that Jennifer McLean has some life FB posts about her healing work (really strategies to be kind to oneself, one's inner self and more) And She will be coming to MA from CA for a retreat at Kripalu near Great Barrington MA for Nov 3-5th, 2017. The overall cost for program and housing is about 500 (more for more private rooms, etc plus airfare or travel so round up another couple hundred dollars even to get from Bradley International or a NYC airport a few hours North (as in Metro-North to Wassaic NY.) From the NYC airports to Grand Central, there are buses and subways (about 10-20 each way), then the train is about 25 dollars each way, then Great Barrington (Lenox) will be about 45 min by car and will take some figuring via taxi or maybe an Uber etc.)
For me, it's near where I live and I may try to go for a day just to be 'in her prescence' maybe in the lunch room etc. But I am open to the Possibility. Some say not to mix modalities (see The Reconnection for instance) but I have found the kind of therapeutic insights she offers helpful. She offers 'attunements' along the lines of a Reiki type process or her own deal..maybe we each have our own signal/ frequency...ya think? Check out her recent posts...
Another special sharing I only read about online is by Jarrad Hewett. He is offering a 21-day program and that's for a couple hundred dollars with 'a few bonuses.' I realize more and more that marketing is part of how they make their bread and butter, but it is also helpful to 'commit to a short program' and try things out a little at a time. Poor Jarred actually shared that he was drawn to go to Vegas by a turn of events (healing an old rift) and yet 'felt the negativity' before the unfolding of events. He got very sick and had to go to the ER. Then he stayed once he felt better in Las Vegas to help with healing work and send a lot of positive waves of love and support to those in harm's way and the victims.
The outpouring of monetary support is very encouraging to show how deeply people are wanting to help one another at such a difficult time. Many are saying this is again a painful way to make connections yet very moving in terms of creating a shift toward paying attention to our collective condition. I hope more people can work to suggest ways to build community in their local areas and across their states.
I have often thought it would be special and effective to have 2 or more people (a man and a woman for instance if not 2 of each and even 2 or more from the LGBTQ) from each state network with others from each state (the same numbers for starters.) They in turn could set up ways for people in their states to canvas concerns and share ideas about laws and practices that are working to keep people in housing, with transportation, with work and in school etc. Preventing illness through promotion of healty eating and living and safe driving would all be other touchpoints. Soon the larger communities could be better represented. I think Ralph Nader had a similar advocacy idea (with the numbers more specific to promote and pass legislation. He has the official Tort Museum in Winsted CT. The American Mural Project nearby also speaks to the work people have done from many walks of life. These are the kinds of positive things we can share to help heal at this challenging time in our political and cultural experience. Let's hope the more inspired people can find a way to inject wisdom and calm into our volatile times when more storms on many fronts seem to be brewing.
