Driving in the Rain, Sleet or Snow is Optional and Worth NOT Doing if Heavy Duty

on Sat, 10/06/2018 - 00:57
I happened to read that cars can hydroplane at 35 mph so worth trying to plan to not drive in the rain if possible..take breaks or delay events if a big storm for everyone's safety is possible.

A large group of us got poured on at the end of a meeting which was raising funds (and having a nice potluck)..but likely we should have cancelled due to the heavy rains predicted and the road which tends to get a stream running over it.

I saw in my Toastmasters magazine that more clubs can meet online...and there's and option to have half the meetings online and half in person.

Expanding the Circles of Love: Praying for Healing On All Levels After a Loss of a Loved One or Other Challenge

on Thu, 10/04/2018 - 14:29
From a FB post, without naming the person in this more public forum, regarding a person being found who'd been lost in a fast-flowing river almost a week later after the person's car had gone off the road (and was found without the person in it.)
I am thankful with the rest of the community that we can all take time to continue to send love and support to this family now that their loved one has been found.

May they have ongoing efforts to help them heal and remember the steadfast efforts, love and care of special person from Massachusetts over their (singular) amazing lifetime as a family

Some Towns Will Have their Legal Counsel Follow Up on Abuse Allegations against a Town Employee

on Tue, 10/02/2018 - 03:59

Without spelling out the name of a town and person under investigation, word is out that one town will seek input from persons who had concerns over the years (decades) about a town employee who allegedly violated a number of young people. Here is a set of comments I shared with others about that news...

Great follow up and as hard as it is to not want revenge for such actions..I've leaned into the notion that "vengeance is the Lord's...' and basically the tough love in the universe doesn't mess around.

Coast to Coast Celebration for Resolution 72 Passing in the House of Representatives...now for The Senate Please!!

on Mon, 10/01/2018 - 18:50

See more info about this historic time where the US House of Representatives have passed Resolution 72 to prioritize the safety of children in alleged abuse custody battles. That's a mouthful but something we could shout from the mountain tops.

Thanks to those who crafted and advocated for the action literally from sea to shining sea (CA to DC) and many states in between over a few years.

Healing Square Breathing in Lieu of a Heavenly Birthday Cake...Breathe in Life

on Mon, 10/01/2018 - 13:42

Monday, October 1st...has a nice ring to it (and I've blogged about this month as a way to start new community and home care efforts, some inspired by Karen Kisslinger, and many great parts of my life such as being in a big family, having a regular faith group and friends to share life with in meaningful ways. I have also gained inspiration from Steiner schools, ,small town schools and networking and larger towns and cities too.

Today would have been my friend Karen Kisslinger's birthday.
