From an email with a request 'to share' at the end. These tragic losses of two sisters at the hand of their biological father who also took his own life happened in Colorado in early Dec. 2022. When looking online for other details, more cases of gun violence emerged (from Atlanta where unruly teens shot two boys who died. One mother had reported her own teen as violent but was told by police they could not intervene.

Somehow a Decade Has Gone By Since 12/14/12, The Day of TANSH, Tragedy At Sandy Hook Newtown (CT) which I wrote about on Livfully.org. Today we know more but have to think about People's Safety At Home, Especially Women, Moms and Kids

As we reverently recount the loss of lives a decade ago at Sandy Hook, we are facing a terrible problem protecting victims even when victims or their families clearly seek legal help. Tragically that includes the loss of 11- month -old Camilla Francisquini on Nov. 25th and a mother of a 3-year-old son, Julie Minogue, age 40, on Dec.7th, 2022, even since the passing of Jennifers' Law in CT to protect victims with their children in custody cases.

I've been reading online about adoption in the US and with mandates from the Hague Convention in 2008, and overall the number of adoptions have gone from 175K in 1970 to more like 125K in years since. With all that our world and country is facing, the focus on what each child is going through (and the whole realm of IVF with frozen embryos) and more could be discussed more widely. There are no guarantees with how a pregnancy or health of a birth mother will go.

Then of course there is the care and often custody matters for rearing a child.

The following is what I shared on an online forum about the recent tragic passing of the lovely young person, Athena Strand, who is a hero for our times to herald the cause of what children and other vulnerable people are facing, more than most,  but of course anyone can be a victim of an attack by an unstable person or even random more accidental situation.

With the headlines online letting the country and world know that the FedEx delivery person, Tanner Lynn Horner age 31, who kidnapped a young girl who had left her home briefly. From news reports, it turns out, the 7 year old girl Athena Strand, had an "argument" (or disagreement, conflict, or perhaps did not feel listened to or understood about something then or as part of a pattern.

Athena was living with her father who had left to go hunting, and her step-mother, but was going to move from Texas to Oklahoma to live with her mother.
