This was a heartbreaking story to hear…and from what was on the news sounded like a difficult situation for such a young person…Rosali Acquefreda, age 20, was involved with him since she was 14…and that she had his child, a son. Apparently she feared him but tried to move on from past harm because they shared a child. Yet Andre LeFrancois, 22, snuffed out her life in Derby CT.<\/div>\n

Her current partner sounded like her hero and was trying to protect her apparently by spending a great deal of time with her. I wish they could have had a better intervention and a safer place to live rather than live in fear as she apparently did…<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Such a hard road for people in our state, country and times…Safe&Together Institute had helpful podcasts and programs… and educates countries and agencies about understanding what a victim is going through, along with her kids….More good guys could chime in any time with interest in learning and promoting ways to intervene with concerns..<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

.All communities should have plenty of ‘safe houses’ for women with secret locations and support as much as possible..It’s basically a civil war kind of issue…and yet when a victim returns ‘willingly’ (even if no other options or with hopes to see things improve…etc) that is another set of problems often times.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

With legal or custody issues that’s a 10x situation and should not be treated lightly as it has been for many decades… Hopefully every town would have a reasonable set of responses, not unlike the volunteer fire and ambulance crews… but for all families (especially with young children) to have a lot of support…<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Some states and counties are better than others, and some have improved due to a high infant mortality rate… More volunteer advocates from many fields could fill in the gaps…but practicing safer interactions is key too…a lot like the pandemic has been a reason to think everything through ‘just in case…’<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
