Heads Up New Yorkers in Need of Rent, Utility, Maintenance Support or Past Help!
As people may or may not know, New York State is about to make $2.4 billion dollars available to help pay rent, maintenance, or utility arrears. More information here. You can't apply yet, but the application should go online at that page any day now. Check often!
To be eligible, a household has to have income at or below 80% of area median income. That's
- $66,850 for a household of 1
- $76,400 for a household of 2
- $85,950 for a household of 3
- $95,450 for a household of 4
The program can cover up to 12 months of rent/maintenance going back to March 13, 2020 (the start of the COVID emergency in NYS).
