https://youtu.be/xk0-yebNA_o The first contact with indigenous people often results in them being killed by white people or others. They can often get sick from having contact since they may not have had the immunity. This man learned Portugese early on by going to a school and then learned English. He shares more but just seeing him for a few minutes or more is very special.

There are still native people who do not interact with more modern people. Some people are trying to protect their tribal rites to remain independent. This man, Nixiwaka Yawanana, does advocacy for tribal people. He shares that a shaman or medicine man asks a plant if it will help heal someone and that engages the healing ability. He also shares that much of the rain forest is being depleted and taken by developers.

He was disheartened to learn about climate change. Their shamans say 'there is something wrong with the world' which is causing the climate change. He feels the greed for money and lack of control are root causes. He promotes caring about nature and one another. He encourages a balance and  shares how to live close to nature in native ways can help maintain a good life and culture to assist the outside world.I would offer making more videos to preserve awareness of their tribe and ways.

The largest tribe has 50 thousand and doesn't have support from the government or enough land or are losing more of it. Then depression and harm sets in among the people. The people are fighting for their lands and ways of life. The Brazilian government is not granting their requests readily, so more advocacy is needed.
