Yes, I tuned into segments of the live Robert Mueller Reports. How About You?

on Wed, 07/24/2019 - 20:02

I will look forward to seeing what the referees and news reports say about the tennis match, I mean the Congressional questioning of Robert Mueller about the possible meddling of Trump or his team in the election process with the Russians.

There was a lot of back and forth, and important referencing to the Mueller Report. The basics are likely being summarized nicely by yahoo and the other news outlets. That's not what I focus on as much as pondering various points and questions that are worth noting.

I don't have time to do so, but I learned of concerns (yes, from both sides) about the 22 month lengthy investigation that was 'triggered by a certain person saying that they had 'dirt on the Clintons' (or at least Hillary who was running against Donald Trump in the 2016 bid for POTUS, President of the United States.) While the report seemed to clearly state there were concerns and evidence of blocking the investigation or tampering with witnesses (encouraging some not to speak against Trump or firing them if they did not comply) there may not have been grounds to hold the POTUS Trump in contempt because he is President.

That point has been debated in the news plenty..is he above the law or should he be held to a higher standard (or at least not given special consideration for breaking the law, which as was shared during the interview today was something Mueller had stated as 'no one being above the law' in his report and upheld as valid (I think but check with the replays and reports.) I am just giving the flavor of the couple hours of questioning and answering. And as far as I know there were no firm conclusions drawn. While the ticket price of the the investigation is reported to be over 20 million dollars there has been a large growing interest in politics, the ways the laws of various courts and parts of the government work and more. That was not the reason to pour money into this lengthy in-depth process.

There were comments that Trump could have possibly sought to impede or end the investigation but that was not clear. He was able to fire the head of the FBI and others 'without reason' but Mueller was not sure if the POTUS could do that to him 'without cause.' Anyone learn the answer to that? One Congressman alleged the Democrats cooked up this scheme in order to have a way to throw mud on Trump and otherwise distract or dismantle his run as President. That got the attention of myself and the very senior citizen I was watching the show with...

We couldn't believe the tables were being turned. I heard a bit more about how Trump had interests in a hotel that would be bringing him millions of dollars in connection with if not directly in Russia so I want to hear more about that and others who were seeking to benefit, likely illegally from ties to that government or the wikileaks against Hillary's emails etc. Lots to learn as likely plenty also feel, as though doing a complex crossword puzzle. We hope more people can take the time to spell out the answers (if they are and it is legal to do so.) Many thanked Robert Mueller for his service during the Vietnam War and for his other important roles he was appointed to by Presidents Reagan and the Bushes...and onward.

Okay history is being made, one way or another...and hopefully we are all brushing up on our legalese and reflecting on how courts can be used (and if possible for basic dealings avoided with appropriate protections for instance of domestic abuse and keeping children 'safe and together' with victims of abuse, such as David Mandel and his Institute suggests is in the best interests of the child and other safe people involved. Different topic but can inform one about the injustices of a bully or criminal at any level being rewarded rather than effectively addressed and given a cease and desist order... even if only by the press and advocates if the bigger players can't find a way to say what needs to be said.
