Alumni.com a nice way to connect, but start with FB and local free sites too for Community Networking! Happy Thanksgiving to One and All this Nov. 2017 too!

This alumni.com site is commercial but helpful for schools and alums (maybe students should join while still in school?) to keep in touch..though really FB pages serve the same function and are free.

I signed up by mistake initially thinking it was a branch of the Blue N Gold (which it is Not). Still, I had always hoped to develop this kind of networking so went ahead and got the lifetime membership when it rolled around as an upgrade for my initial fee. I consider it a business investment too just to keep in touch and see what great enthusiasm can be generated.

That said, if someone wants me to look someone up I can help a few folks (as might others on the site.) Using the apparel could be a nice way to promote public education, show community support and do fundraisers...even farther out from the local area. I like that there's the USA in HoUSAtonic and has the message of tonic (better than toxic right?)

Of course, we each can strive to make that so in our lives and sometimes the climate or challenges in one's life, relationships, area and bigger world can make that difficult. Okay, here's to wrapping this up on a positive note.

Also if there's a Younger Family (or community friend) who went to Housy or whichever high school, Their lifetime membership would last a lot longer for any bargain hunters out there. Ideally a couple of people Per Town/ School could join a site and have some share time at the local library, say Second Saturday of the month at 2pm to Check what's going on and have a mini reunion.

At Vassar, The Quarterly is a magazine printed and sent to all alums twice a year I think, so FB pages are more popular with younger alums. Somehow we need bridging committees. Those of us over 50 are often still Way Behind with the tech world...so thanks to any who've helped us bridge the Digital Divide and let's continue to close gaps that keep us feeling leagues apart with wisdom, resources and so on...See more ideas on www.livfully.org. By the way more local websites for towns, topics and events, ideas and more are a great asset to a community.

Thanks to all who maintain those babies too. Northwest Corner Chatter is one such FB page, and most towns have a basic site. The tri-corner area is called the 14th colony by some and is often noted as a great mix of state and local cultures, events, people, landscape, history and more.

It's more than okay to get excited about being from the area as well as one's smaller niche..it makes everything flow more readily to have roots and branches,,, good grounding and wings. NYC isn't even too far away to call part of one's circle..so chime in and keep the music playing!
