To All the Famliies Missing Their Kids in Heaven..plus others missing loved ones. We can't be apart if they live in our heart...

The other day a friend was walking out in the woods as the sun was setting, Her dog was being playful and she stopped to tune into him. When she looked up she saw a beautiful sunset with the sun streaming through the trees. A space in the trees letting the sunlight pour through was in the shape of a heart. She felt her son who passed last month as the driver in an accident was telling her, "I love you, Mom." With a talent for sketching, she captured the beauty she saw and shared it with friends online. Can't you just feel the love pouring through such a moment?

Sadly many people are stuck in grief and fear over a difficult situation, a loss or change, a death or other difficulty to the point that 'their hearts and eyes become closed to the possibilities of feeling love from above or accepting the Possibility that may be the case. Maybe they dream and have a hunch their feelings or mind can play tricks on them or they have wishes for connection that just cannot really happen. Maybe over time, seeing movies like What Dreams May Come or Ghost (with Patrick Swayze) or hearing talks online (hint, hint maybe worth checking into with friends and guidance such as from Marc Anthony or John Edward, respected mediums with a gift for 'second sight'.) Some say only a few people in the world have that capacity in a way to connect with many spirits and convey direct messages.

Others say we all have the ability akin to hearing the tune "Happy Birthday" in one's mind but not hearing it, or being able to picture one's room or another place without being there. It's That part of the brain that may be involved in the process of 'receiving messages in a practical way." The other way this mom, myself and many other people find their way along the dimly lit times of life when experiencing change, loss or other conflict is to Trust in a greater energy and love that will carry us through, help us see meaning, find ways to ask for help or take time to relax to be able to tune into the bigger aspects of life or the more personal experiences. It may seen trivial or simplistic but in today's world of focusing only on the physical or professional stance of things, a person can feel lost in the shuffle, abandoned by friends and even one's faith in G-d and otherwise hurting and even aching all over.

That's where the magic of a sunlit heart in the trees can remind us that a lot of life is being open to love, allowing for miracles and special memories and connections to pull us through, with God's grace (as one is comfortable with such concepts and terms.. maybe using a Bigger Love among humanity and from nature and other realms coaching us through like children as we grow on all levels, sociallly and spiritually. Here's a note I wrote to the Mom about her sharing 'her heart' (picture and feelings and messages..) as I spent the day at the zoo in NY around the same time she was walking in the woods, both of us thinking of our sons (hers who I will call KK, age 19, who was tall like a giraffe (and a great basketball player in high school). His family opted to have him become an organ donor which extended the lives of many people. Our one son named Kaelan, age 16 and a half, who was not an organ donor (and was not found for a week) but saved a few friends from passing in a raging river as they were celebrating the start of summer after their first year of high school in a small, friendly community in CT.

( Note--please watch teens and others closely as school days wind up and during the summer. Respect nature's mountaintops and drops, rivers and other challenges by not trying close-call type fun and games. Your families and friends could do more to remind you and vice versa and call for help early on in any dangerous situation, ideally not at home or in a car, but wherever it may occur. Getting to safety and helping others do so could be a lifesaver, especially if one is skilled but short of that not everyone can make it out safely and more people being put at high risk or perishing compounds the problem...

I share these thoughts to value the efforts of rescuers and lay people who hope to save others but maybe need to know there are limits on what is expected or can be done after a certain point. Let's help each other stay in the game of life with teamwork, safety, skill and yes, that Big Love stuff too!
I thought of your son and mine in their heavenly stadium while at the Bronx Zoo...lots of magic there and deeper senses of connection...I will recap as soon as I can.

In addition to communing with the awesome handful of giraffes (five lanky lovely creatures stretching from earth to heaven with their yellow brick road brown spotted pattern), other highlights were on the road going I saw a large painted sign, Organ Donation is Beautiful.. All of the creatures from the bears including grizzlies and a polar bear, the baboons and other amazing animals made me feel more alive and blessed to be here now (especially while we have a chance to help preserve nature and wildlife.)

At one point, I recalled my son Kaelan going to the zoo in 3rd grade in early June. If he had been getting on the bus that day he may have perished since a beer truck passed the stopped school bus. That was a miracle moment when the bus driver was able to warn another child to get back. That was even with a parent nearby but who was getting in their car thinking the coast was clear.

That can serve as a reminder for everyone to be more cautious about school buses, kids near roads, where kids are and lots more.Doing what we can and trusting in God's hands and angels to fill in the gaps or help us should things not go as we can understand. I felt Kaelan was letting me know that he got the bonus years up to age 16...and exited in a courageous way even if ideally none of the kids should have been playing it so close to the edge and in the river that day.

Another 'heads up' to stay earth side with wisdom and friends (both adults and kids working together for safety and supervision...) It was a delight to see so many thousands of folks enjoying the Zoo with folks of all ages (mostly kids, plenty with wild face painting and screams in the 4-D theater of critters chasing each other for survival or a toad falling cleverly like a rubber ball and landing safely in water. Keeping all of that in perspective and trusting that God has a part in everyone's heart and abilities can keep us grounded and inspired. HugEnergy, peace and love, Catherine Paton
