Watching the Live Holocaust Memorial Remembrance Service, Candelighting, Prayer Sung
Right now I happened to see there is live coverage of the service for remembering those who suffered or died in the Holocaust during WWII (and beforehand.) It is on WH.Gov and yes, President Trump is there in the front attending, along with some from Congress and military colorguard and musicians.
The Jewish leaders and people sharing their historical tragic legacy for all of humanity are dignified, humble and earnest. It is moving to see such an acknowledgement in the light of day when too often such parts of history are overlooked or forgotten by the masses.
This should be a light in the confusing times, a reminder to remember lest we relive aspects of singling people out, diminishing sectors of humanity and worse. We need to care about each other, plain and simple and in more compassionate, practical ways.
With that, I light a virtual candle for those victims in the Holocaust and their families, loved ones and wider circles of people who can hold the shared legacy in our hearts and minds. Let's journey with faith, forgiveness, healing and helping as we can on this precious life experience on planet Heart.
