I appreciate you taking time to explain that feeling of it's not fair paying for others who want free stuff. I have heard that over the years when people on state or federal programs get dental (or medical coverage) and others, often working at higher rates of pay, do not (even if they had insurance through their jobs or were paying part or all of it.)
There are many issues that deserve a lot of attention from the 'concerned masses' who are often cornered with few options (pick one's poison or politician some say.)
That likely needs a major review. I have felt we need steadfast Volunteers or others (in faith groups and non-profit and individuals forming coalitions such as moveon.org and other efforts such as amnesty and ACLU etc to Look Out for People on all levels.)
This could be extended to paint a clear sensible picture with reliable people Trained Five Years in Advance of Leading a State or Country etc with some proved Abilities in the Job they are intending to do (such as a mock Model UN) etc. As the Utah Presidential candidate worked out of street front office and used his own small teams to do great outreach, so could a whole team of people training up for important jobs do the needed work.
Maybe a college could offer a degree in such a set of jobs and people could earn educational credits and get loans or scholarships to attend.
Then we could know how many millions of refugees every country can expect to have to help (some say 150 million total in the next few decades.)
IF we can look at the Necessity of dealing with some huge problems as a global community, not simply 'locking out the poor and needy from our wealthy country which does a huge amount of destruction of the environment and many undercover missions All for No Real Reason according to Steven Greer then we can start to seek the better solutions for our collective Chances at Survival.
Those are growing skinnier with every decade as the planet heats up, the oceans decline and our best hope might be nice alien assistance. Even that is on the chopping block Steven Greer says however, since many billions can be bilked for more Defense against manmade UFOs..
. But yes, we should take a little time and think compassionately and sensibly about the economic and practical aspects of the immigrants who are here 'illegally' and find some reasonable solutions..
Likely more of them will help each other than most Americans could conceive of doing even for lotsa do-re-mi.
