Thanks for Supporting the Steve Wingard Funeral and Memorial Fund On GoFundMe.com on FB

on Thu, 06/27/2019 - 04:17

See more information about this very moving turn of events regarding the untimely passing of a professional diver Steve Wingard of Falls Village CT during a working situation clearing a drain below a hydro plant.

The details of what caused the malfunction or accident are not clear, however the family is very appreciative of the support people are sharing on many levels, including with raising funds to cover funeral experiences.

Steve Wingard was a skilled worker with that extra edge for adventure and capability. He was a student at Housatonic Valley Regional High School of Falls Village CT, Class of 2012.  As it turns out, that is the same class our teen son Kaelan had shared his freshman year with, likely knowing Steven through sports a few years prior.

Unfortunately, Kaelan passed away on the final day of school when helping to save his friends from the Falls nearby after school let out in June 2019. The support that everyone can hope to give one another as friends and community members may unfold over the years, hopefully in ways to mend a sense of security and care.

A friend I have spoken to recalled a case in Great Barrington MA where a young person passed about 15 years ago. I had heard of that and felt connected to that kind of sad loss since I had children the same age and we had similar names. I also had a friend who was able to help recover that young person who'd been lost in icy conditions. So our worlds that seemed miles apart in a a sense served as a foreshadowing to help me cope when our son passed unexpectedly. Sadly for our area in the northwest, corner, likely this loss of Steve brings that close to mind. Hopefully we can promote safety and thoroughness in all settings whether recreational, family, social, or work related ventures.

Steve Wingard, often pictured on Facebook with a beautiful smile and a sense of fun and adventure, was raised as part of the loving family of Joan and Jerri Wingard, long-timer residents of the northwest corner of CT.

So far the Steve Wingard Funeral and Memorial Fund has raised $8K toward a goal of $10K. Let's pull together to help get that fund over the top! Thank you to all the people donating and showing support to this dedicated family as well as others who sadly may experience challenges along these lines or other difficulties. The kind words, acts of kindness and support can be very helpful on many levels.

Comments

Like double rainbows that have graced the skies in the the northwest CT area (and likely elsewhere), the ongoing gofundme.com for the late Steven Wingard of CT has doubled in the past few weeks from 5 to 10K and was met by a couple hundred donors (some much larger than others but all adding up to a circle of great love. His family and friends all share in feeling the gratitude to meet this need in such a short time.)

As we find ourselves getting into the spirit of celebrating the 4th of July and maybe other important aspects of our modern day world, such as more equality and kindness towards people of all walks of life, raise a glass (non-alcholic very much okay with this writer...) to commemorate an ambitious young man, Steven Wingard, who sadly for our towns and wider area, passed suddenly from some kind of difficulty when working as a professional diver on June 21st, 2019.

There is more to figure out, and in the past weekend there have been gatherings to allow his earthly farewell held in the towns of North Canaan and Falls Village CT. Thank you for all the support shown to the family of this remarkable person (more articles on line touching on some of his many talents as a  high school state wrestler and much loved family member and friend.)

Here is a reflection I shared in one of his friend's posts. She had found something special near a RIP Steven chalk drawing she'd made shortly before then had walked a bit to see the storm clouds gathering. She took it as a sign that he was well and I'd have to agree..

. Many moments of connection are beyond explanation or sometimes even description, so we are fortunate to tune in and hear with our hearts what these things might mean. There are many 'aids' such such as cards from Patti Sinclair and many talks on youtube, the Birth Angels book by Terah Cox and more to consider.. Here's what came to mind that I am grateful to be able to share with you as well.

The weather has been kicking up at times in Brooklyn NY too...that was the case for me coming home from a forum of activists to save the world and decent ways to make ends meet recently. I caught a bus to ease my worries of getting caught in the storm that was dancing around with winds getting an extra gust due to some of the buildings.

One song 'No More Sacrificed Cities' was played by a fellow who knows my crew, so the small world feeling was part of the bigger outreach too. This cross appearing as you say was 'perfect timing'..and whether someone will come round and mention they came by or not, the wonder of it all keeps the door of hope ajar.

There are many amazing ways the love and spirit comes through, even materially. I am still impressed with the ways our technology lets us feel we are more in touch with people (huge numbers) compared to a decade or more like two ago.

That is a similar kind of 'connecting with loved ones'' here whether we can see them or talk regularly or not...and those in spirit.

.It's all in the rhythm and belief of the heart. That reminds me of another song or two (one has words ; You kick and then you glide...it's all in the rhythm..of the heart. Keep breathing, it's the most important part. Maybe it's online.

.And another by the Short Sisters, Takes A Little Gracefulness (I think).

The words go something like... Takes a little gracefulness to let the love in, in, in..Takes a little gracefulness to let it go again. It takes a little quiet, and knowing your stuff... to feel one's way open, takes a little gracefulness. I believe...in plenty. I believe..that you care. I believe in you and the sun that's always shining somewhere.

I hope that's the case for everyone as they feel 'storms coming' of missing loved ones, wondering what the future holds or won't be like without the physical presence (in mortal form) of a loved ones in spirit will be...
Just 'call out their name...and as James T suggests...they'll 'be there..oh yes they will..cuz you've got a friend (and make that a bunch)..looking out for you and wishing you calm and good times. Thanks for letting me chime in here a bit... and again, peace and simple steps to breathing and delighting in the continued sense of connection to all who are okay with that with those here and beyond the veil..
