Reflections On Pacing Education for Everybuddy's Benefit (from Region One in NWCT and Elsewhere)

I have offered the idea for a couple of decades to get people to put their children into full day kindergarten at age 6 or 7...and then by middle school kids would be 14-15 so likely could go to the high school and transition accordingly.

More programs for infants (even expecting parents...and new people ages in utero, to newborn through their first year of life--outside the womb, to age 7 to allow more options for care and interaction among children and families and communities would be ideal.)

All of that should be free...and while that sounds 'impossible' large scale, plenty of towns and foundations could direct funds in that way. The programs in some towns that care for children after school and in the summers run on peanuts compared to the costs of formal education.

This approach could allow for enriching experiences across the board with perhaps a half day being recreational for pre-K and K etc in the school building (or based there) and the other half day public schooling. With students more mature in high school they could get some college level work done and have more success fine tuning their careers...

Some kids could 'fast track' but likely more could enjoy music, sports and other offerings over the more relaxed pacing and be more balanced with their work, life and of course social skills (offline and on...)

By the way likely all the students and public could review what is appropriate (safe, legal and so forth) to share in texts, verbally and so forth so people are not 'fouling' their chances for proceeding through life with green lights and ideally personal, social and community support.

Adults and youth could try to consider options to excluding people, and benefits to many 12-step guidelines that put principles above personalities... and to focus on the overall option to be a good sport and 'play by the rules and a sense of good sportsmanship' in every aspect of one's life..

A basic primer in the 10 Commandments or the basic idea of 'treat others as one would like to be treated' can help everyone consider the bigger game in life. When it comes to being safe and planing for success whether in school, sports, life and driving etc, having clear community and state guidelines and laws spelled out would make Good Sense and Even Save Lives.

That's a high return on a fairly low-cost, timely and necessary investment. I spell things out to help keep the ball rolling to reach the goal of success for all team players.. on livfully.org and more..
