A post from last July, responding to "Every Baby Is A Headline" article about the royal birth..
Heaven comes to earth one baby at a time..and as we nurture them, or fail to do so, we get 'feedback'. Even with the 'best heartfelt care' we can find our returns on investment (ROI--new term I just learned) not resonating with our hopes and efforts. Still, a 'greater realm of love and possibility may be ushered in, to 'be our neighbor's keeper with gentle interventions, offers to explore options and protection of those they may be harming (especially women, youth, kids..but other men or women too).
No one lives in a bubble once one is born. Why not recall the loss to home invaders of CT mother Jennifer Hawke-Petit and her daughters on this date, July 23rd, 2007 (six years ago) and the message that may have been lost on US-All not only with the 91-year-old , man with dementia, Tom Drew, also of CT disappearing on July 21st, 2007. I have remembered these losses, along with our teen son Kaelan Paton's passing on June 16, 2009, on a Tuesday a week before Michael Jackson died, at a special gathering that is held each Tuesday from 12:15-1:45 in Great Barrington at Sruti (though the next 2 weeks may not meet..normally it will).
See www.srutiyogacenter.org for more details. I'll be drumming soon with friends in Salisbury and remembering our loved ones and those who have journeyed on as I do often at the Tuesday drum circle time at St. John's...A growing hope that a loving Creator and 'Christ Consciousness' and similar ideals of spiritual and energetic connections can enliven the hearts of people on earth and restore a sense of care and community. The www.tricornernews.com will print a letter I wrote about 'trading places' with not only Trayvon Martin (whose name can remind us to Try, and to Trade and SMarten up while we have the chance, as our nation yearns for US-All to 'dare to care and share' and grow in trUSt in practical and meaningful ways.
Pass it on as you can and as a symbolic 'lighting of a candle and carrying a torch' with lives such as Nelso Mandela's (95 years and counting on his earth journey along with 20 million others who fought in foreign wars, including 2 million in Iraq and Afghanistan efforts, something I just heard on the radio and hope to keep in mind as I remember the gifts of both my father's service in WWII and my mom who raised their many kids together...a valiant generation with big dreams...
Let's not forget our roots, or our branches, including olive branches of giving each other 'healthy space and saving face by realizing we are all part of the whole and can align with caring values to help everybuddy feel like part of a winning team.."the only race to win is the human race" (With all other species on board as in the days not only of Noah's ark but 'now that we know better let US-All do better as stewards of our earth/heart ship!
