Hip, Hip Hooril for the NY Brooklyn Folk Festival the first weekend of April!
There's lots springing up for the one and the many in any season. Somehow in the warmer weather just getting outside feels like an outing and fesitval with bird song, critters (I saw three deer, a red fox and some other critter scurry a few feet in front of me on my way to a garden club meeting in the evening last night.) I also heard spring peepers, and read that others have been tuning in as well, so Spring Is Here!
'All God's Critters Got a Place in the Choir" as well as "I've Got A Song" are ones that come to mind when I think of Folk Festivals as well as remembering Sandy (Charles Alexander) and Caroline Paton, both of whom led Folk-Legacy Records for over 50 years. That collection and the work of the group of current singers and musicians will be part of The Smithsonian Collection, to help the world enjoy more of the homegrown and inspired efforts of over a hundred artists.
