Great to Appreciate One Another and Contribute to Volunteer Efforts With Thanks All Around

on Thu, 01/30/2020 - 20:33
To the Editor (of The Lakeville Journal of CT, a paper that's getting $100K in donations to help meet their Million Dollar Annual Buget and not face the fate of 2000 other newspapers that have gone belly up and out of business in recent years in America. Not a fight for the top but rather just to stay in the game! Kudos to all braving getting the word out as well as 'Using our words to put down the swords of despair, confusion, isolation, limited or harmful thinking, difficulty and danger of all kinds...--That's by me as is this note, Catherine Palmer Paton)
Thanks in advance for taking time to consider these ideas and share them, donate to one another (both receiving help and giving support) and wider circles and good causes in person and online efforts. It all adds up and creates more pathways and progress for healing and helping as done with that intention, energy and action!

So here's the letter that appeared in today's journal.
Many know that the answers and outcomes one person, group or country gets depends on the questions or requests asks. The critical impeachment hearing is getting the everyone's attention that it desperately deserves with many feeling the dire times are calling for every citizen to step into their power and advocacy role. The concerns of truth, honesty, safety, competency and consistency are coming to the fore. Meanwhile what can 'regular people do' to keep growing in wisdom, hope, care, skill and connections?

With the non-profit sector of faith groups, civic groups and good causes, everybody knows donors are needed and asking gets the ball rolling.

Community foundations help manage funds for many non-profits and grants to provide basic services and many others that enrich lives through scholarships, medical help, travel and more.

Many faith groups provide mission work and camp scholarships. Letting others in one's natural social circles and wider community is important to help people realize what can be achieved voluntarily together.

A site Patreon.com allows people to accept  online donations for projects, ongoing or in development. I hope to learn more and set an account up. Until then I am accepting donations at paypal.me/CathPalmPaton to support my volunteer advocacy efforts, enriching and educational programs, travel and continued writing and speaking.

The blog livfully.org that I have shared for over five years has been one of learning and creating a community forum with highlights from the tri-corner area and Brooklyn NY.

Medium.com is a site I encourage everyone to use for blogs whether for their school, family, group or an interest or cause.

I will transfer most of what I have written onto a WordPress compatible site (which I could use help with by the way) and possibly back onto Medium.com/@livfully.)

As many realize the challenges in dealing with the untimely passing of our  teen son Kaelan Palmer Paton have spurred my activism in many areas which I will promote with an outreach called PACT, Preventing Accidents Crimes Team. Our society tends to do 'too little too little' and takes a ton of resources to clean up the aftermath if that's even possible.

More people joining in shared efforts and funds can make 'miracles' happen more readily, and appreciate the many play out in amazing ways and merit our collective appreciation. Here's to more good and happy trails unfolding for everyone in this key year and decade.  Catherine Palmer Paton, Falls Village CT
